Wrigley Coffee - The Local Phenom Coffee Shop
There are plenty of good coffee places in the Long Beach area. No matter where you look you will find a local coffee shop that can offer a delicious cup to its customers. Wrigley Coffee is no ordinary coffee shop though. Its unique business style aids families and others who are searching for reliable housing. The company gives them a job, resources, training, and the support they need to succeed as a barista.

The coffee shop is operated by a nonprofit organization, Family Promise of the South Bay. Their mission is to aid families find and afford housing and help them create an independent lifestyle of their own.
Family Promise of the South Bay strives to accomplish those goals and Wrigley Coffee will lead as their new project. They also run a vast number of other programs that aim to give families financial stability and an affordable place to live.
The program that future Wrigley Coffee employees will have to start consists of a 90-day development program that begins with potential prospects being referred by managers from the shelters. If they qualify for the program they will be trained on how to make coffee and will also be offered various other types of training which will give them more knowledge and experience for the workplace.

The plan is that at the end of the 90-day training program, the new employees will have learned new skills and techniques that will not only help them at Wrigley Coffee but also out in the real world in any other profession. The bigger picture from the program is that it is not intended to just be an orientation for a barista position at a coffee shop.
Andrew Nishimoto, the Executive Director of Family Purpose and General Manager of Wrigley Coffee states that the three main goals of this project include the following.
Run a successful business because that will make their project successful too.
The coffee shop is a shared community space that can be used for other needs.
The program helps aid families who need assistance.
